How do I bring my feeds over from another reader?

Export an OPML file from your old reader, then in Tilde open Settings and choose Import OPML. Folders come across as groups. Export OPML in the same place gives you a file you can keep as a backup or take to any other reader. It's also how you move your list between the Mac app and the website, since they don't sync.

Where does Tilde keep my data on a Mac?

Everything stays on your Mac, in the app's own folder:

• Mac App Store version: ~/Library/Containers/in.kjrlabs.tilde
• Downloaded from GitHub: ~/Library/WebKit/in.kjrlabs.tilde

On the web, it's kept in your browser's storage for this site. Nothing is stored on a server.

How do I delete everything?

Mac: quit Tilde and move it to the Trash. macOS keeps the app's data even after that, so in Finder choose Go › Go to Folder, paste the folder path above, and delete that folder too.

Web: open your browser's settings for tilde-rss-reader.vercel.app and clear its site data.

There's no other copy anywhere, so once that's done, it's all gone.

A feed won't load. What can I do?

1. Open the address in your browser to check the site is up.
2. Try the site's home page instead. Tilde will look for the feed on its own.
3. Some feeds need a login or block automated readers, and Tilde can't get past that. On the website, a few sites also block requests from cloud servers; the Mac app asks each site directly, so it may work there.
4. Feeds larger than 5 MB are skipped.

Why don't I see images in articles?

Remote images are off by default, because images are a common way for sites to track readers. Turn on Load remote images in Settings if you'd like to see them.
